Wizard Neck Sleeve │ UPF

Description

Rain, sleet, snow. Say hello to our little friend.

More pockets. More features. More awesome.

Stepping up from the original Primo wading jacket with extra length, more room in the neck collar, and an upgraded main zipper the new Primo Rain Jacket excels at keeping you dry on those hardcore bad weather days. This full length fishing jacket is designed to be worn with wading pants, rain pants, chest waders, or just by itself. If Chuck Norris was a fishing jacket, this would be it.

With a full length design the Primo Rain Jacket is a long version of the popular Primo Wading jacket. and takes it up a notch with a longer overall length, bigger pockets, and new armpit zips for venting excess heat. The Primo Rain Jacket features waterproof and breathable protection from the elements with three layer DWR coated, 20,000mm waterproof rated fabric, fully taped seams and water resistant YKK zippers. The snagless cuffs adjust on the inside of the sleeve, wrapping your wrist tighter than a leather mancuff, and leaving the outside of your sleeve clean from snagging.

You can’t buy happiness, but you can buy this jacket. Which is pretty much the same thing.

Finally chucked my “sustainable fashion” rain jacket for something with a zipper that doesn’t perpetually snag and fabric that truly keeps the wet out. Favorite wife and daughter pointed me toward the Primo Rain Jacket in XL. Wise women, both of ‘em. I’m 6’1”’ and 200 lb. or so and the jacket fits comfortably; easily accommodates a fleece pullover; keeps damp chill from creeping past my wrist cuffs; is festooned with more pockets than a mob of kangaroos; allows relaxed movement of arms and torso; and the ample hood definitely keeps my noggin dry. Toasty, too. Well suited to climate of the Pacific Northwest. No more excuses for not taking the garbage out because it’s raining.

    October 29th, 2023.

7:00am, deep on the East fork of the Carson River. The day brightens as the full moon and the sun barely greet each but for a moment other over the Western and Eastern sky. I can see my breath in billowing clouds as I carefully scramble down a steep granite slab to the rivers edge. The bubbles that usually burble along the rivers edge are beautiful little frozen spheres looking as though they were plucked from a fancy table setting. The smell of sagebrush on the crisp morning air brings forth memories not my own, of a simpler time. The leaves on the Quaking Aspen, have all but a few, turned a brilliant yellow. The air temp is 12 degrees Fahrenheit. I honestly couldn’t be more comfortable than I am in my XL Primo Rain Jacket.

7:15am, fish on. Lovely 2lb Rainbow Trout on a wet fly. Released and swimming with vigor. Happy place.

The Dryft Fishing Primo Rain Jacket. Go get yourself one and have an adventure in absolute comfort.

I put this jacket to the test this winter. Everything Oregon and Washington could wash at it. Snow, rain, sleet, hail. Nothing more than dust on my shoulders.

This is my third product purchase from dryft, all have been well worth the money + some.

I caught the dryft, you should too.

  4. Mike Fox

Warm and dry, a real improvement over what I used to wear winter steelhead fishing. I have a picture if you would like to see it.

As a professional fly guide I have tried most other brands of rain gear a Dryft is by far the BEST i have ever owned. Thank you for building a quality product at a great price

Now we just need some bibs.

  6. Shannon Casebolt

Absolutely love my new dryft waders and rain jacket. Descent heavy material! Good quality for a good price. I have looked at and priced out other mid to high end gear, nothing compares , in my opinion to the quality that dryft gives u for the money. The first dryft rain jacket I ordered turned out to be too large for me, I sent it back and dryft promptly sent me a different requested size. And that was during the huge flood that they were enduring! Kudos to dryft! If it hold up, I’ll be a dryft customer for life.

  7. John T

The best rain jacket I have ever owned. I’ve worn this on very nasty rainy days along the Oregon coast that included sprinkles, showers, sleet, etc all in one day. Stayed dry and toasty warm every time. Also walked through thick brush and the jacket shows no sign of wear. Definitely recommend this to others.

  8. Brandon (verified owner)

Kept me dry while fishing. Fits great and is lightweight. Will buy from them again.

  9. Matt (verified owner)

All day float on the Bitterroot, River (MT) in early October and was very satisfied with all the features in the jacket. Also, the downpours at the Husky/Ducks game was no match.

  10. Sean Nguyen (verified owner)

Best rain jacket I have ever owned. Test in the heavy pouring rain, all day, last 2 outings and stayed perfectly dry. The snagless cuffs with inner wrist adjustment work perfectly. My sleeves stay dry even in the heavy rain, fishing all day. I am very happy with the jacket. Definitely recommend. You won’t be disappointed.

  11. Nelson Betty

Bought the jacket for my wife, she loves it. Perfect fit and room to cast.

  12. David Summers (verified owner)

Totally bomber jacket in every way! I’ve used this jacket extensively this spring in very tough guiding conditions. The jacket performed flawlessly! Of course it kept me dry in serious S.E. Alaska rainforest condition, but it also has technical features that are exceptional. The hood is easily adjusted, pit-zips to dump heat when needed, fleece lined upper pockets to warm up my hands when needed, truly waterproof zippers all around, the list is long. Absolutely the best cuffs I’ve ever used on an outdoor jacket! I highly recommend this jacket!

  13. Scott (verified owner)

Excellent jacket. Well thought out design and warm enough with layering on those cold winter days. I’m very pleased with the quality and purchase as a whole.

  14. Jeremy Hecksel (verified owner)

Hands down the best gear I’ve ever owned. Great fit, great style! And keeps you dry all day long! So happy!

  15. Robert Carlier (verified owner)

Haven’t tested in heavy rain but in the normal northwest wet I have stayed dry. I used the size chart and measured as a large, normal shirt size I buy XL, but fit was great. Plenty of room for warming layers underneath. If it keeps me dry as long as my wading pants, not sure if I ever reviewed those 3 years later, I will be a happy customer. So far all gear has been worth the price.
