Our Commitment to Conservation

DRYFT strives to lower our impact through sustainable manufacturing and packaging practices, and also by contributing to habitat restoration and conservation efforts. In addition to working towards lowering our footprint by phasing our plastic packaging, we have partnered with One Tree Planted to help us achieve our conservation goals.

With every wader sold we plant a tree, usually along salmon and steelhead bearing streams in the Pacific Northwest. Salmonids require cold clean water to survive and trees help provide that. Depending on current reforestation needs trees get planted throughout the United States as most needed.

As anglers around the globe increasingly face loss of fisheries due to many factors including habitat destruction, changing ocean and climate conditions and unsustainable fishing practices we need to look forward to the future.

One Tree Planted

One Tree Planted is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to global reforestation. Together we plant trees to restore nature and biodiversity. A core mission of One Tree Planted is also to raise awareness about the importance of trees, offer businesses like ours a simple sustainability solution, and motivate younger generations to do something positive for the environment. Trees clean our air and water, create habitats for biodiversity, contribute to our health and well being, and create jobs for social impact. We’re honored to have reforestation through One Tree Planted as an integral part of our business model. 

Single use plastic and packaging

We are phasing out single use plastic packaging in our shipping and product packaging. Moving forward we will only use 100% recycled, reusable and/or recyclable materials for our packaging and shipping materials. Some items from the outlet or past seasons may still be packaged in plastic, but moving forward we are eliminating plastic packaging from our supply chain.

PFAS free products

We are committed to providing products that are made without intentionally added PFAS, and as of 2025 all of our components, materials and products are produced without intentionally added PFAS. PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are a group of man-made chemicals that have been widely used in various industrial and consumer products due to their unique properties such as heat resistance, water-repellency, and oil-repellency. They are often referred to as “forever chemicals” because they do not break down in the environment and can persist for long periods of time. We have made this shift not only to comply with individual state laws, but also because it matches our sustainability commitment to do less harm to people and the planet throughout the operation of our business. (Please note that you may find a closeout product for sale on our website that used an older C6 DWR coating that contains PFAS. These products are limited to sale in states that do not ban them, and each product is clearly labeled as containing PFAS or being PFAS-free).

Recycling and upcycling

In addition to selecting and using recycled fabrics on our products when possible, we are also actively taking unsellable returns and upcycling them into new and reusable bags and totes. By partnering with Recycled Waders we’re teaming up to bring circular life to old waders, keeping materials out of the landfill, and putting them back in consumers hands as long term reusable products. Our Lite Series utilizes 100% recycled nylon face fabric.

Our commitment

In addition to committing to making our business practices as sustainable as possible, every year we also donate to multiple non profit organizations to help them with the important work they do to improve access to the outdoors, through social programs and fish and habitat conservation.
