Description

All-weather protection for your bod.

More pockets. More features. More awesome.

A true bomber of a jacket, the Primo Wading Jacket keeps you dry even on those hardcore bad weather days. If you want to make an impression on the river and stand out from the crowd, rocking this wading jacket-style technical shell from DRYFT is a sure fire way to do it.

The Primo Wading Jacket features waterproof and breathable protection from the elements with DWR coated, 20,000mm waterproof rated fabric, fully taped seams and water resistant zippers. The snagless cuffs adjust on the inside, wrapping your wrist tighter than a leather mancuff, leaving the outside of your sleeve clean from snagging your line like a hook to the face. With a shorter length for wading, but not so short that it shows off the tattoo you got after losing that bet in Mexico, the Primo Wading Jacket can crossover and be worn with or without waders.

My wading jacket keeps me warm and dry in all weather conditions. The fit never constricts me while fishing while not being bulky or getting in my way. There are plenty of pockets that keep the contents dry and all the zippers are excellent. The wrist cuffs are beyond words fitting around my wrist perfectly keeping my arms dry but not restricting my movement at all. Dryft wading jackets are designed perfectly, they are excellent!

Outstanding jacket, wife getting one now as well.

  3. B. Lynn Dykgraaf

Bought Primo jacket and zip front waders in 2016 as a retirement gift to myself. LOVE THEM! Only bought another jacket because I lost my original on a recent trip. Could not be happier with the service these two items have provided through years of not so gentle use. Waders are just starting to look like I might need a new pair after six years of hard use. You will not be disappointed.

this is the second one of these i bought, lost the first one, damn. best jacket i ever had. love the second one as well, im a 3x guy and this is just right for chasing steelhead in NE Ohio. indestructible and nothing to get caught in your fly line. love it

Absolutely love this jacket. Pulled it out of the box, put it an and immediately thought the fit and design was terrific. I’ve now spent lots of time in it, and just enjoy it more. The hood is very well designed to stay on while running a boat at 20mphand still alow movement and visibility. The short length is definitely a wading jacket, allowing access to tools on your belt, but the sleeves are sill full length.

I live on the Texas Gulf coast and primarily saltwater fish and do alot of wade fishing. Purchased this jacket as a wading jacket. Have always used Simms products and they are still great but I have to say that this Dryft jacket is awesome! The fit, length, and storage is very good. I have already put it through the paces in some pretty nasty weather and it has kept me dry and comfortable. Would recommend this jacket over any wading jacket on the market! You wont be disappointed

  7. John Jaacks

I recently purchased the Primo Wading Jacket, using it when fishing around my Maryland Fishing holes. This has included some torrential high wind rains as well as some perpetual rain falls. Much like I would experience if I was fishing in the Panhandle of Alaska or on a High Altitude lake in the Rockies. It has performed as advertised. There is ample room to accommodate the waders and any underlying coats and/or sweaters. I particularly like the end of the sleeves. The design keeps the water from draining down the interior of the sleeve.
The pockets are handy for storing fly boxes and tippet. The neck portion of the jacket has the convenience of just having the neck guarded or you further include the head covering. I found this rather nice when I wear my huge field hat fishing. Keeps the wind from burning my neck and helps keep the rest of my interior warm and dry. It kept me dry and cut the wind off my interior.
Another aspect of this jacket design, is that it does not interfere with the skagit sweep or the double haul. The box area for conducting the skagit sweep is clean from protruding equipment stored in floppy pockets.
Before I took it out I examined the stitching and the sealing, since the jacket will be used in more harsh extremes like Arctic, Southwest and Panhandle Alaska , high altitude lakes large lakes in Canada or Muskie lakes in Wisconsin and Southern Patagonia. The sewing and sealing have no flaws and are well attended to. I won’t have to worry about the jacket unraveling in some remote location or some location far from home and having to reseal it.
This is a comparable product if not exceeding other rain protection products from other manufactures in the Fly Fishing and Mountaineering worlds. Not to mention the price tag is very affordable and I am not paying for company pet projects! I like the idea of helping a couple of folks make an honest profit.
I also want to add that all my questions were quickly and throughly responded! My primary concern was the fit. They explained that the fit as presented should do the job, but if it didn’t then they would exchange it for a size that did the job.
I have been using this jacket in torrential rains plaguing the greater Chesapeake Region this spring. Today, it has held up great, I believe that this jacket is a good investment and addition to my arsenal of rain and wind protection equipment.

I don’t usually write reviews but I am so happy with this wading jacket. i fish steelhead in Northeast Ohio and it gets cold and wet. this jacket is great. tough, flexible, fits perfect, I’m a big guy 3x, and it just rocks. i have tried numerous rain jackets and this is by far the best. The sleeves with the interior cuffs are great, pockets where you need them and the hood works great. I’m due for some new waders, no doubt they will be Dryft. Great job and thanks

  9. Eric Camfield

Love this rain jacket. Was beat to death by rain in Alaska on a week of fishing. Jacket was bullet proof–along with the Dryft waders. Highly Recommend. –Eric (Altar Fly Fishing)
