The Primo™ Zip GD wader from DRYFT™ is a top of the line feature packed and stylish addition to the DRYFT™ lineup of outdoor fishing apparel. With upgraded main components and materials, we made our most popular wader more durable, more abrasion resistant, more breathable and more functional.
Primo™ Zip GD Wader features at a glance
- Increased function over previous model with bigger pockets, more pockets and tool attachment points.
- Upgraded fabrics for greater breathability and long term durability. The heavyweight 4L lower is 50% more breathable compared to previous model with exceptional abrasion and tear resistance and enhanced bonding strength for greater long term durability.
- Upgraded seam tape structure in key areas throughout the waders such as fully double taped seams from the waist down with triple taped seam ends.
- Upgraded belt loops.
- Burly German engineered TIZIP® main waterproof zipper. This zipper is found in use on top consumer products ranging from scuba diving gear to rescue equipment and is paired with a front zipper cover flap to help keep dirt and debris out.
- Recommended for 3 seasons (fall, winter, spring).
- Relaxed fit to allow for layering.
- Eight pockets including the waterproof media pouch and large inner drop in mesh pockets. Four outer zipper pockets (two main and two hand warming) feature YKK® water resistant zippers. Please note that outer pockets are not waterproof and are not submersion rated. Keep your phone sealed in the waterproof media pouch or an inner pocket.

Designed with comfort in mind, the Primo Zip GD waders use a high quality TIZIP® main zipper to help take the production out of mid fishing session bathroom breaks, and makes getting in and out of your favorite pair of waders oh so easy. The strong and durable four-layer lower from the waist down includes a single vertical seam design with seams running up the outside of the legs to eliminate seam abrasion when walking. The burly heavyweight four-layer lower joins a comfortable lighter fabric upper with plenty of secure storage pockets on the outside and inside, including a media pocket and dual large drop in pockets. Adjustable straps, belt, and upper drawstring let you dial in the fit, and flexible knees give freedom of movement allowing you to walk, run, crouch, wade, stumble, and crawl easily without restricted movement. Zippered fleece-lined hand warming pockets double as extra storage, and an adjustable Comfortflex™ semi-stretch wading belt, a nylon webbing non-stretch wading belt, and storage bag are included.
What about staying dry?
Breathable, 20,000mm DWR coated waterproof fabrics combined with double taped seams bring the waterproofing to the next level. To top it off, seam ends and edges are triple taped throughout the legs to keep the water where the fish are.

These are the best waders I’ve ever owned. The material Dryft uses is thick and resistant to cuts from rocks and brush. The front zipper is a game changer! It has never leaked on me when wading in deeper water. The front pocket zippers are not waterproof however. Dryft customer service is second to none. My right foot bootie started leaking and Dryft replaced my waders no questions asked. Thank you Dryft for standing behind your product! I highly recommend these waders!

Living and fishing in the wet thick timber of WA state, over many years I have put most high end waders to the test with the same results.. No complaints. Waders are super comfortable and the zipper is very handy. Perhaps my fav feature is the elastic boot protectors. They fit over most every boot, whereas other brands of waders want you to purchase their brand of boot and design their waders to only fit accordingly. Will always own a pair of Dryfts.

I just spent two days fishing in these here in Maine. I’m pretty impressed with the comfort and durability. As much as I try to be careful with waders I often find myself trying to navigate through the alders and pucker-brush to get to the good spots. So far so good, they made it through with no holes in spite of my unintentional ass-ride down a muddy beaver slide. The reason I purchased these is the sizing options. I’m a bigger guy and it’s hard to find my size. I have Simms customs and they are fine. The Primo 3xl-s waders fit me perfect. Dryft – please maintain this size option. The zip front comes in very handy. I was able to quickly access tippet and the bottle of water I stashed in the interior pocket. When these wear out I’ll purchase these again. I don’t anticipate it being too soon.

I spent 4 days living in these on a river in Alaska. Much of the time was spend in waist deep to mid-stomach depth and they held up great. The pocket zippers leaked a little bit, but the main sipper never leaked. There is nothing better than having a zipper when you are decked out in rain gear.
These are dark heavy-duty waders and would not be comfortable on sunny, hot days but for temps in mid 60s and below they were just what I was looking for.
I can’t wait to use them this winter when I am tracking around in the snow.

I am going to begin by saying that I have been on the hunt for a quality pair of waders that actually fit me for quite some time now. At 6’4″ and 260 pounds, I have struggled to find waders that fit properly in all the right places. Most companies chest waders (including some of the most popular and expensive brands) have tended to be either belly button waders or legs too short for my 36″ inseam.
The Dryft Primo Zip waders have ticked all the boxes and then some! The quality of craftsmanship, attention to detail, logical placement of pockets, incredible comfort, and one of my favorites, the full zip so I can release the Kraken without stripping down, have me singing praises for these waders.
I fish the surf in the Monterey Bay Area of California and beyond, and these have kept me dry and comfortable in all conditions. If you are in the market for a new set of waders, regardless of your size, I cannot recommend these enough! Well worth the money. Will certainly buy another pair when these wear out. After 50 years of guiding I have worn many kinds of waders from bootfoot solid rubber which was all that was available back in the day to the present generation of Gortex and breathable materials! I have used all the traditional brands available whose name I will not mention but I sure you all know who I am speaking about!
