Bought these Dec. 2018. I love these waders. I have only used them a handful of times and can’t speak to any warranty or how long they will last. I’ve used Hodgman, Allen, and various Cabelas brands in the past. I was having a hard time thinking of having to spend $700/$800 for similar types of waders before hearing about Dryft. I have several buddies in the fishing industry that have Dryft waders and they all had great things to say about them. I appreciated the higher level of sizing options so you aren’t stuck with the “standard” medium, large, xl, etc… a lot of times leaving extra material in legs, feet, or chest for more of a one size for all. The boot fit is great. The inseam allows for bending over and sitting without extra bunching. The chest is perfect for layering underneath. I’ve received quite a few compliments on the waders and one person asked if they were custom fit (no). The pocket options and zippers are great. I’m really appreciating the center zip option and not having to dress down to take a quick whizz (finally). The type of material and thickness of material is durable, but still very mobile and breathable. I also bought the wading jacket with these and it is fricken awesome as well.

I fish hard. Bushwack through brush, hike miles, freezing temps, saltwater ect. Not only do these waders hold up through it all, they are comfortable and allow for excellent movement.

The warranty and customer service I’ve received from dryft has been outstanding. Quick email response times. Quick handling time, everything you’d expect and more from an awesome company.

I bought the Primo Zip Front waders late last year, in time for Steelhead season here in Northern California. I received them right away. No problem there. I was over all very impressed. Went out right away and fished in them. Zip Front very cool. I stayed nice and warm and dry. So far, so good. The next day I went out again. I went to put my licence in the little flip out pocket, went to zip it up and the zipper slider came right off. No big deal really, it doesn’t really effect how the warders work, everything else seems to be fine. Other fisherman are always asking about them. One guy said ” I didn’t know Simms made black waders”. I told him what they were and that they were great.( I didn’t mention the zipper)
Overall they seem to be a solid pair of waders. I’ll wait for Steelhead session to end and send them back to see how your customer service is.

Thanks for leaving a review, and sorry to hear about the zipper slider breaking on the flip out pocket. We’ll definitely take care of that for you. At your convenience please email us or view our warranty information on our website and we’ll take care of it for you. Thank you!

This waders are awesome! I cannot see a reason to spend 700.00 to 800.00 for just a pair of waders from other companies out there, I love mine so much a got a pair with the jacket as well. I also got the set for my wife, I purchased a size small for her and they fit her perfect and still she has room to layer for those cold days we have during the winter months.
I totally will recommend to friends and family. Another selling point was this company is here in my home state, shipping was super fast and I’m sure if I ever had to return something it would be no problem.

I got the kracken waders and primo jacket with the face mask combo for christmas. I was super stoked on them. Went fishing and they were pretty amazing. I would recommend them to anyone looking to buy any $800 zip up wader. The only thing i didnt like was the fact after my wife purchased them at the “holiday sale price” they went down in price after the new year for the same combo deal. Other then that they are awesome. Stay warm and dry all day.

I have been search for front zip waders and not wanting to spend $800 to own a pair! I couldn’t be any more pleased not only saving over $400 but the quality is $800 itself! The customer service is just as amazing as well! Purchasing another pair from Dryft in the spring!

Very Very Very Impressed!!!!! Tried my Primo Front Zipped Waders for the first time this weekend on the Texas Coast. I was truly amazed with the fit and comfort as well with the easy mobility I had. The Pockets and D rings are fabulous and I can really tell that a lot of time and research went into the design. I can’t say enough of the quality, design & comfort this offers for the Price. Kudos Dryft!!!!!

    Hello

I’m from the Toronto area in Canada. These wader are great! They shipped fast even to Canada. The front zipper is awesome and the sizing chart was bang on. I’ve never bought waders online before, so I was a bit worried about sizing and quality. But when the arrived I was blown away at the quality and craftsmanship of this product. The price was awesome as well. I will most likely be ordering the wader jacket soon as well. Such a comfortable product and super durable.

    Thank you

As an 80 year-old trout and Atlantic salmon fisherman, I have been wearing out and buying waders for over 60 years. Just recently, a Maine guide and friend of mine (Mark Danforth), recommended I try the DRYFT Primo Zip-front waders. I did, and tried them out on the Miramichi this October(2017). What a grand surprise! The Primo Zip front is by far the best waders I have used regardless of price. The fit is perfect, the comfort luxury, the zipper flawless, and they are actually easy to put on and take off! What else can an old guy ask for? I thank DRYFT for producing them and Mark Danforth for recommending them. I will next try them on some heavy tail waters here in Tennessee with a friend of mine, who is also in the market for a new pair of waders. You don’t have to guess which waders I will recommend.

Since buying these have fished the caney fork river in Tennessee the water runs 55 degrees… I wear them
In and out of the water their so comfortable I leave them on even when we go to eat or buy more fishing lures… I literally sit , bend or even kneel down in these like their just a pair of pants( fun to watch kyakers think I’m in deep water when kneeling to hid my reflection from trout then stand up when they get beeched).
I never get binding and have walked many miles in these through brush as well… the outside pockets promotes as hand warmers is a very far stretch as they hold water after your chest deep…. defiantly not going to keep hands warm… the inside flip out pockets are nice I can hold my cigar carrier in one and my IPhone 6s+ in the media pouch…. the shoulder straps are adjustable as to spread the weight away from my neck…. I do wish the belt had some sort of clip I could attach it to when I unzip the waders for a break as it likes to pull out from the loops… many say they look like guide waders… I don’t care about looks but like these over the many tan and browns I see out there when fishing.

Looked around at the various manufacturers waders with zip fronts – some were a little frail in construction and others were ridiculously expensive. I was unable to view the DRYFT waders as I live in the UK. And ordering online, a product you’ve not seen, is risky at the best of times, but I was also ordering for use on a forthcoming trip to Cape Cod!

However, the waders were at my pick up point waiting for me. Great. Not so great was the fact that I’d erred on the larger inside leg (the foot sizing suited my shoes size) and they were way too long. Contacted DRYFT and asked about ordering the next size down and being able to try both incase the re-order foot size was too small. Have to say absolutely top notch customer service. I had a reply within a couple of hours saying no problem. Paid for the second pair and they were with me within a couple of days (luckily I could borrow a pair of waders to wear meantime) returned the orginal pair (obviously unused) and my account was credited within a few days.

So very impressed with the customer service, and, now I’ve worn and used my Primo Zip-front waders I can say I am just as impressed with them. Good fit (the foot size was fine) and comfortable, nicely thought out layout for pockets, and robust construction. Happy to recommend this product and manufacturer.

I have a hard time buying things unseen. The DRYFT Primo Zipfront waders are amazing. Hands down these are the best waders I have owned. Buying these waders online is not a mistake. Great quality, excellent fit, light weight, and more comfortable than expected. Well worth the money. You won’t regret it, I don’t!

It took me a while to decide to buy these waders – its was a leap of faith for me since I had never seen a pair in the flesh but the reviews I read were good. So far I have been really impressed with these waders – the construction is very solid. I have probably fished them 12+ days since I received them. They slip through briar thickets far better than I would have imagined. I honestly don’t think they have been snagged or hung up on any thorns yet which amazes me because I’ve crashed through a lot of thickets already and I’m not overly careful when I go through them – I’m a big dumb animal (but not clumsy). The outer layer sheds water readily so they don’t hold any water to speak of, or subsequently take much time to dry (a small fraction of the time my old ones took). The neoprene feet are thicker than my old waders so I had to retire a pair of Simms boots before I lost a toe nail, but I think that was more of an issue with the dimensions of those boots (snug toe box).

I’m 6’1″, 215lbs with size 13 feet so I purchased the XLs. Dimensionally, with the exception of my feet, I’m borderline between the Large and XL. But my XL pair fits comfortably and there is plenty of room for extra layers (which I haven’t had to do yet) or in the event I balloon up 20lbs. They are warm without being noticeably hotter than any other waders I have had. I was concerned about the darkness of the fabric, with respect to heat, but that seems like it is a non-issue.

Shipping was really quick. I don’t think there is anything I can add about the zipper, pockets, or other features that hasnt already been said – they are great waders.
